Gianti Giadi, better known as Gigi, is a renowned choreographer and performing artist based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the artistic director and proprietor of the esteemed 'Gigi Art of Dance' studio company and foundation, which she established in 2009.
Gigi's journey in the world of dance began at the tender age of four, when she delved into the realm of Indonesian traditional dance. She later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Dance from Singapore's Lasalle College of the Arts. After completing her studies, she returned to her alma mater, where she taught for four years. Recently, she was honoured with an invitation to choreograph Lasalle College of the Arts' graduation show in 2023.
With an impressive portfolio, Gigi's choreographic works have graced numerous events, including concerts featuring acclaimed artists like Krisdayanti and Rossa. Her talent extends to event performances, advertisements, commercials, contemporary festivals, and musicals across Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, the United States, and Europe.
Through her art, Gigi explores the essence of human life, employing storytelling, emotional journeys, and bodily experiences. With over 20 years of teaching experience in various genres such as Contemporary, Modern Jazz, Traditional Contemporary, and Musical Theatre, Gigi holds esteemed certifications from institutions like the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) Australia, Broadway teaching group (New York), and Broadway Dance Center.
Gigi firmly believes in the power of performing arts to positively impact the younger generation. Through her teachings, she endeavours to introduce her students to the beauty of the performing arts, empowering them to become the best versions of themselves.
