HAFIZ YUSOF

A dedicated educator and artist, Hafiz Yusof holds a Masters of Education in Drama from Nanyang Technological University (NTU)/National Institute of Education (NIE), as well as a Bachelors of Education (Hons) in Malay Language and Literature from NTU/NIE. His teaching journey began in 2010, starting as a speech and drama instructor in primary, secondary, and junior colleges. Following his graduation from NIE, he taught Malay Language as a first, second, and third language at Anglo Chinese School (Independent) and Bukit Batok Secondary School.

Passionate about literary and performing arts, Hafiz has been actively involved in the arts scene since 2006. He has delved into various forms of literature, including poetry, short stories, and playwrights, earning him several prestigious literary awards. Collaborating with renowned theatre groups in Singapore such as Teater Kami, Teater Artistik, and Teater Variasi, Hafiz continues to engage in theater works with Anggerik Temasek Bangsawan (ATB), Teater2000 (T2K), Celik Productions, and other theatre groups.

Hafiz's involvement in the Malay drama production, 'Bangsawan Raden Mas,' at Esplanade Theatres, under the direction of Mr. Nadiputra, stands as a testament to his dedication. In 2017, he was invited to act in a Bangsawan production in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Medan, Indonesia, performing in the production 'Satria Menara Putih,' produced by the People's Association.

It takes a village to raise a child. Guided by his experiences in the arts and education, Hafiz embraces a philosophy that emphasises a multigenerational approach. Hafiz believes in the collective effort required to nurture and empower younger generations, encouraging performers of all ages to collaborate in his productions. His ultimate goal is to cultivate and inspire the vibrant arts scene in Singapore, enabling the younger generation to excel in their artistic endeavours.
